there’s a picture in here from a lover
who lied to me
she fucked up my head with a phone call
at 4:30
there’s a message in here from my mother
who lied to me
she fucked up my head with her daughter
i am not she
there’s times you go
it’s who you know
and who i know
is nobody
there’s times you say
don’t go away
and they go away
and leave nobody
there’s a collar in here from a pinscher
who died on me
she fucked up her head with a seizure
but i ended things
there’s a tissue in here in a baggie
it’s all padding
it covers a token of failure
a matte finish ring
there’s times you go
it’s who you know
and who i know
is nobody
there’s times you say
don’t go away
and they go away
and leave nobody
I’m not Korean, but my acoustic guitar is. It’s stuffed with little mementos of painful times in my life. That probably hurts the clarity a bit, but it’s my guitar, and if that means it has to sound a little wrong, then that’s what that means.
The verse progression is odd, I’m not really sure what style of music it is… the chorus sets are old-school Pumpkins all the way, though. In my head, I hear Billy Corgan circa 1994 singing the part. Whenever I get around to doing the demo, it’s going to be a real trick to rein that in.
