Well, I’m officially a soldier now. I work for the Army, as a cook. Soldier first, cook second, which kinda sucks, because it’s not the impression I got when I signed on, but that’s another story for another site.
I’ve been back for about two weeks, on leave, and while I was hoping to use that time to record at least some of the new material I worked up while I was in training, it looks like that’s not going to happen. There’s simply no space in this house for me to set up my recording rig anymore, now that there’s a crib and all kinds of other baby mess in the bedroom. But that’s ok, because we’re moving within the next couple of months, and I should be able to, in theory, be set back up and recording again by… hmmm… I’d say August. Unless I get deployed.
So, in the meantime, you’ll have to continue to settle for lyric sheets and production notes that don’t really mean much without a demo to apply them to. The first six songs completed this year are, in order of authorship, they’re everywhere, share the love, just like being alive, liftoff, resection, and sentinels. They’re good reading, at least.
